I recently read the book App Empire and had the opportunity to interview its author Chad Mureta. In the book, Mureta – he himself a successful mobile app developer – seeks to empower individuals to become what he calls an ‘Appreneur.’

In my mind, the book can be distilled down to a few key takeaways. App Empire encourages budding developers to focus on research in the early stages, make iterative improvements, and choose the best monetization model for the business. One encouraging aspects of the book states that much of the process can be automated, allowing non-programmers to develop a million-dollar application.
