Or, maybe not. But Google+ will try! This week, on the heels of Facebook’s announcement, Google+ announced embedded posts. This new tool will allow bloggers to embed Google+ posts on their site, just like Facebook.
This allows blog visitors to interact with the Google+ post directly instead of being taken from the page–and could encourage more users to share via G+. Google+ is now the second most actively used social network globally, but sharing with G+ could use a boost.
Using G+ can help your brand reach new audiences. Embedding posts is easy: just choose a public post you would like to highlight, then select “Embed Post” from the corner dropdown.
Then copy and paste the code to embed on your website.
And voilà! You have a fully interactive embedded post on your website.
Embedded posts are great for websites as it allows users to interact with a Like, Retweet , +1 or comment right where they are. They do not have to go away from what they are doing to join in the conversation. The user experience is much better than a simple screenshot. It’s a win-win for both site owners and social media managers.
Do you think this new tool will boost Google+ engagement? Or did Facebook beat them to the punch? Tell us in the comments!
